PROCESS
- FISH MEAL
Janatha Fish Meal uses very fresh sardine catch
caught by its own fleet of boats and transported
hygienically over minimal distance.
The Steam Sterilized fish meal produced at our plant
is by wet process i.e., raw fish or affals are fed
into double jacked steel cookers and cooked by
steam. From the cooker the fish is fed into a twin
screw press where liquids such as water and oil are
squeezed out. The solids from the twin screw press
namely fish cakes are fed into steam driers (Steam
drier was imported from China) where moisture is
evaporated through a cyclone and dried fish meal is
directed into a milling machine for finish powdering
and then cooled in cooler for bagging. Process takes
only 45 minutes in all. The Steam Sterilized fish
meal is fully sterilized because it is dried
immediately after the cooking and pressing.
PROCESS
- FISH OIL
Liquid from press is pumped to super decanter to
separate solids and then fed into super centrifuge
for separation of pure fish oil. Separation takes
places in 10 minutes. Fish oil are characterized by
the high energy value, higher content of Vitamin A
& D, large quantities of unsaturated fatty acids
and high iodine number.
This centrifuged fish oil is further taken into a
refinery to pass through the process of
neutralizing, bleaching and filtration. This is
refined fish oil
