THE
SYNOPSIS OF THE PROCESS FOR FISH MEAL &
FISH OIL
RAW
MATERIAL ...
The Indian Oil Sardine (Sardinella
longiceps) is the chief raw material used for
the manufacture of fish
meal and fish oil at
Janatha.Abundant supply in excellent quality
and high oil content makes this species ideal
for the purpose. Caught by a fleet of own
boats, the catch is maintained fresh throught.
Fish
Meal ...
We adopt steam sterilised
drying process to make Fish meal. Fresh raw
material is fed into a steam
cooker which is then pressed in a
screw press to release oil from the meal. This
meal then moves into a steam dryer and
the dried meal is milled in a miller ,
sieved in a siever and then cooled using a
cooler before bagging. The whole process takes
less than 45 minutes maintaining utmost
hygiene and using the best quality imported
machines of latest technology.
Fish
Oil ...
The Press liquid from the
screw press is passed through a Decanter to
separate solids and then again through a
Centrifuge to remove water from it. This is
crude oil. The crude oil then passes through a
refinery to undergo neutralising, bleaching
and filteration. Further steps are carried out
depending on the need of the clients.
Quality
Assurance ...
Stringent quality assurance
is adopted at all critical steps in the
process based on HACCP. The company also
is in the process of implementation of ISO
9002 quality standards.
Environment
...
Janatha Fish Meal & Oil
Products complies by the laws and regulations
of the Pollution Board and is committed
to environmental protection.
